Classic Technology for Permanent Storage
Paper may deteriorate. Computer storage drives may crash. There is but one information archive technology that’s been proven to stand the test of time: Film.
The conversion of paper documents to film is a classic means to maintain pristine copies of your documents, files and other vital information – records that can last for centuries. The quality we offer at CASNET practically guarantees your captured image will be around for 500 years when stored properly. With a flashlight and a magnifying glass, your grandchildren’s grandchildren will still be able to read what’s there on the film.
Experience
When it comes to professional conversion of documents to film for content preservation, we pride ourselves on both our equipment and our people. We’ve been experts at this craft for more than 25 years with highly experienced staff to ensure the level of quality you require. Even our “new people” on the team have been with us more than 15 years! We are masters of the art that goes into this classic content management technology.
Equipment
CASNET has the proper equipment to provide archiving solutions for any size of document – from a tiny business card to enormous engineer blueprints and everything in between. Even large books can be captured. We also offer two sizes of film – 16 mm and 35 mm – to suit the needs of the item and the client.
In addition to our document-to-film services, we also offer digital-to-film technology where we can take the digital images and preserve them on film. This helps preserve the integrity of the image, as well as the image itself.
Quality
If your final product is to last for centuries, production quality is essential. At CASNET, we take this very seriously. We employ third-party inspections to make sure even the small steps are performed properly to ensure centuries of use for our final product.
Once a month, our team sends a “test film” sample to the Fuji labs to be analyzed and to ensure it meets archive standards. They check to make sure the film was processed at the right speed, and that the “fixer chemicals” were properly rinsed to eliminate the risk of unnecessary deterioration. Proper rinsing is critical because over the years, any remaining chemicals can give a roll of film the “measles” or spots all over the images. It’s just one example of the great strides our team takes to make ensure a quality final product for our clients.
Consulting
Not only does CASNET offer quality film conversion services, we also make sure you have the best environment to maximize its use. We help you with storage options and guidelines (temperature, humidity, etc.), film viewing equipment, and strategies to get the best results when using film as part of your content management solutions.
