What is a Digital Signature?

Throughout recorded history, we have used the handwritten signature to represent our identity, intent, and ownership. It has been a cornerstone of both commerce and common law since the dawn of civilization.

Yet as computer technology revolutionized organizational processes and information management over the past three decades, the paperbound signature has become an impediment to the new speed of business. As a result, the electronic signature industry has emerged to bring our oldest symbol of identity, intent, and ownership – the signature – up to speed.

AIIM Ohio River Valley and ARMA Ohio present on April 15, 2008 an educational session about Digital Signatures.
